oh the irony

Got up with Kev to make breakfast, and Jylle wanted to make brownies for our rafting trip tomorrow. She loves to bake, but her messiness makes me crazy. The oil bottle was slippery, she doesn’t scrape all the batter into the pan, and there are batter drips on the counter. Anyway, she ends up doing like 5 messy things in a row, and I sigh and retire to my bedroom where I tell her to be quiet because I’m going to have my quiet time. I’m there one minute, and she comes back with the oil bottle wrapped in my brand new kitchen towel. “Look how clear it is!” Instead of enjoying the accomplishment and the attractiveness of the now clean bottle with her, I start in on how she’s using my brand new kitchen towel and how oil stains. She walked out saying, “You’re so agitated with me...”

This is happening AS I am reading today’s portion in My Utmost For His Highest.
Here are the words: “Agree with thine adversary quickly.” Have you suddenly turned a corner in any relationship and found that you had anger in your heart? Confess it quickly, quickly put it right before God, be reconciled to that one—do it now!"

"Sweeeetie, come here, please..."
